The Assemblies of God Church (AoG) of Guyana today donated a cheque valued at G$1 million and a quantity of cleaning and sanitizing supplies, as well as drinking water to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC). Bishop Dr. John Smith CCH, General Bishop of the AoG, handed over the funds and items to CDC’s Director General, Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig, at the CDC Headquarters.
Bishop Smith indicated that it is the religious entity’s duty to help those in need because we are all one people. Lt. Col. Craig thanked the church for their generous contribution and explained that the items will aid flood affected residents tremendously.
The CDC continues to work with religious institutions and civil society to ensure that aid is available for impacted households across Guyana during this difficult time.
