Timehri, Guyana – The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), along with the World Food Program (WFP), is in the process of implementing the CDEMA Logistics System (CLS) Software on CDC systems. This operation comes on the heels of the CLS training which was completed a few weeks ago.
Representatives from the Commission’s Logistics Unit, along with members of the Guyana Fire Service and the Guyana Police Force, were split into two teams at CDC’s Alternate National Emergency Operations Centre (ANEOC) in Timehri. Team A engaged in software updates and date entry while Team B managed the assets of the location’s warehouse. Both teams were thoroughly lectured on Warehouse Inventory and Management before the Commission was added to the CLS network. The activity is expected to continue next week at CDC Headquarters where a smaller storage facility is housed.
The use of CLS will revolutionize how inventory is tracked and managed, which will ultimately make the process more efficient.
