The Charge D’ Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Embassy, Mr. Chen Xilai, today donated USD$50,000 to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC). Mr. Xilai said that the People’s Republic of China are proud to help their fellow nations during crisis since they understand the struggles that a country faces during a flood for instance, being no stranger to natural disasters themselves.
Receiving the donation was CDC’s Director General, Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig, who indicated that the Embassy’s contribution will aid the response and recovery efforts greatly.
The CDC has received Regional and International aid during this difficult period via monetary donations and supplies.
