Remedial works have been conducted at the Kingston, Georgetown koker to prevent further flooding. This followed a breach yesterday which saw the accumulation of water in sections of the city.In the interim, engineers have placed stopping logs at the koker and sand bags at strategic areas.A team from the Civil Defence Commission inspected the area today and confirmed that water has receded. The koker’s failure may be due to abnormally high pressure.
