Tropical Telecom announced on Friday January 15th that its subsidiary Access Haiti has established a free call center in Petion-Ville, Port au Prince so that individuals in Haiti can make contact with their loved ones in the US and abroad.
The call center is located at Access Haiti Headquarters, 60 Rue Geffrard, Petion-Ville. The call center will operate daily until sunset. Access Haiti has also established broadband and voice communications services to the provisional medical facility at the Hotel Villa Creole and several other sites to support medical and emergency services. The Access Haiti headquarters building has been made available to serve as an operations base for international journalists including the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine and others with access to phone, high speed internet services and office facilities.
Tropical Telecom’s Chairman Cornelius B. Prior said, “Our broadband network in Haiti, network operations center and redundant access to the Internet are operational despite the devastating earthquake. We are pleased now to extend a helping hand to our neighbors in Port au Prince by offering free voice calls abroad.”
