Masjid Al-Abidin in New York donates to local flood relief effort

The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) today received a quantity of mattresses from the Masjid Al-Abidin, a Muslim chapter based in New York. Director of Education for the Central Islamic Organization in Guyana (CIOG), Mr. Sheikh Hack, presented the items and said that the CDC must be commended for their continued response efforts during this difficult time. Mr. Hack also indicated that more relief will be given to the CDC as the floods continue.

Receiving the items was Deputy Director General of the CDC, Major Loring Benons, who expressed gratitude for the organization’s contribution. The CDC continues to work with Non-Governmental Organisations to provide aid to the flood impacted residents countrywide.
