University of Guyana donates to Flood Relief Effort

Vice Chancellor of the University of Guyana (UG), Dr. Paloma Mohamed, today donated G$1 million to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC). Dr. Mohamed said that the funds were accumulated in part from members of staff who volunteered parts of their salaries to aid flood affected residents. Accepting the donation was CDC’s Public Information Officer, Patrice Wishart, who expressed gratitude for the contribution.

The CDC consistently works with several institutions to ensure that aid is available for impacted households across Guyana.
