SUBJECT: Flooding in several regions of Guyana.
1. EVENT: As a result rainfall over the last 96 hours, several areas in all ten (10) Regions of Guyana were reported to be flooded. The water levels at the four (4) locations in the East Demerara Water Conservancy (EDWC) have been recorded as follows:

2. PROGNOSIS: The Hydrometrological Services predicted variable cloudiness with isolated showers over regions 7 and 10 this evening and over coastal areas in the early morning. Thunderstorms are likely over region 7 and 10. Rainfall is expected over regions 5 and 6 in the early morning. Rainfall is expected to be between 0.0 mm and 10.0 mm today, May 16, 2012.
